Great Lakes Trout and Salmon make major migratory spawning/feeding runs in the fall, winter, and spring into Great Lakes Tributaries, and many trophy fish remain in the rivers and harbors over the winter monthes or come up under the ice, allowing for many monthes of angling opportunity for big, hard-fighting fish on light tackle!
We offer trips custom-fitted to meet your needs! Whether you are looking to catch your first Great Lakes trout or salmon, or you have 100's under your belt, a trip with Captain Jeff will expand your horizons and show you new techniques that will help you land more of these elusive fish! We use high quality custom jigs, hand-tied flies and cutting edge tactics that out produce ANY conventional baits and techniques on the market!
Giant Brown Trout and Steelhead (Rainbow Trout) are the primary targets through the ice and during the spring run! The average size of fish taken is around 24-28" and about 4lbs to 7lbs, but we commonly take specimens over 30" and surpassing 12lbs to 14lbs. Each year, we land several monster browns that are in the 16lb to 18lb+ size class and surpass the 33" mark! Average catch rates are 2 to 5 fish per day, with several 10 to 15+ fish days occuring every season!
